We are on a pilgrimage, led by His Grace Bishop Joseph of the Antiochian Orthodox Diocese of Los Angeles and the West, visiting Christian sites in Syria and Lebanon. The days are long and filled with a variety of church services, ceremonial visits, discussions and learning. At times it feels like a marathon for which one has not adequately trained. But, being in places where Christianity started keeps us fascinated and we count ourselves lucky to have been invited on this trip.
Suffice it to say, there will be many future posts about the things we are seeing, hearing, experiencing. In the meantime, Syria and Lebanon are nothing like we expected: we are safe and the recipients of enormous hospitality.
